This charge converter ensures optimal and fast charging of the leisure battery from the alternator while driving. Unlike a simple cut-off relay, the charging voltage is raised to the value required for the respective battery type for a full charge, as specified by the battery manufacturers. This allows the full charging current to flow, and significant amounts of power can be charged into the battery in a short time. Long charging cables and losses, as well as voltage fluctuations at the alternator, are cleanly regulated.
