LCD Battery Computer S with 100-400 A Smart Shunt for 12V or 24V battery systems, battery fuel gauge

How much charge does my auxiliary battery actually have left? Is the battery really full? Why is energy being drawn from the battery despite consumers being switched off? The VOTRONIC LCD Battery Computer S answers these questions to the nearest percent (%) and amp-hour (Ah). At the touch of a button, it provides comprehensive information on the current state of charge of the battery, the flowing battery currents, and the voltage level of the battery.

The LCD Battery Computer S was developed based on the highly proven VOTRONIC LCD Battery Computer. The versatile, easy-to-operate display functions have been extended by a white-backlit, clear LCD display, which is very easy to read even from a long distance and in unfavorable lighting conditions. The device is constantly in contact with its battery and thus registers and evaluates all battery actions. All charging and discharging currents are meticulously counted, and battery size, self-discharge, battery load, etc., are taken into account based on programmed characteristic curves. Even the smallest leakage currents are detected and registered. The remaining capacity of the battery is then calculated from the measured values and the battery size. The result is the correct display of the state of charge (the remaining usable capacity, remaining charge) of the auxiliary battery as a numerical value in amp-hours (Ah) and in percent (%) as well as a clear fill level bar, like a fuel gauge. The LCD Battery Computer S is suitable for all battery types (acid, gel, AGM, lithium adjustable) with 12V and 24V battery voltage.

Of course, the current battery voltage (V) and the current battery current (A) are also available on the display. Discharge currents (consumers) are indicated by a minus sign. Charging currents are also indicated by an easy-to-read "Charge" sign. Independently of this, there is another display option for the voltage of a second battery, e.g., for monitoring the vehicle's starter battery.

The LCD Battery Computer S has a freely programmable switching output for control, monitoring, and warning purposes, e.g., to automatically switch consumers or issue a warning depending on the state of charge of the auxiliary battery (0-100%). Switching on and off points can be freely and independently set in %, enabling any switching functions. In addition, these can be manually overridden at any time by pressing a button. Application example: Automatic protection of the battery against harmful deep discharge, consumers are switched off exactly according to the state of charge, e.g., when the state of charge is less than 25%. A "NOT-ON" function is possible at the touch of a button for continued power supply to consumers. The device can thus also be used as a remote-controlled battery master switch (on/off) with deep discharge protection.

A plug-in connecting cable connects the display completely with a robust precision measuring resistor (shunt), which is connected directly to the negative pole of the auxiliary battery and at which the battery's voltages and currents are measured. This is also where the switching output for connecting signal generators or powerful switching relays is located. When using the LCD Battery Computer S as deep discharge protection and battery master switch, due to its performance and extremely low power consumption, the use of the VOTRONIC Switch-Unit 40 or Switch-Unit 100 is recommended.

Matching the VOTRONIC modular system, the device aligns optically and mechanically (uniform height 85 mm) with the other display modules, and the shallow installation depth of only 18 mm allows installation almost anywhere.

• Starter battery voltage, 2nd battery, 7 to 32 V (Volts), measurement resolution 0.1 V.
• Switching output, freely programmable and tactile (PNP, positive potential 12V / 24V, max. 0.5A).

Note: The devices are calibrated to the measuring shunts included in the scope of delivery and cannot be operated in conjunction with other measuring shunts or exchanged with each other!
