Votronic Bluetooth Connector S-BC

The Votronic Bluetooth Connector S-BC serves as an interface between the solar controller, battery computer, and smartphone or tablet. With the associated app, the status of the on-board batteries and the photovoltaic system in motorhomes, caravans, boats, special and emergency vehicles can be displayed, graphically represented, and evaluated on a smartphone.

The Votronic Energy Monitor System consists of a special communication module (Bluetooth Connector S-BC) which, in conjunction with a Votronic solar charge controller (from 2013) with LCD solar computer S and/or the LCD battery computer S or VPC Jupiter with Smart Shunt, transmits the values displayed on the corresponding display to a mobile device via Bluetooth. The required Votronic Energy Monitor app for Android or iOS is available for free in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

How it works:

The device has 2 inputs and outputs each, so that 1 solar controller with LCD solar computer and 1 smart shunt with LCD battery computer or VPC Jupiter can be connected to one communication module. If only one Votronic device is to be connected to the Bluetooth Connector S-BC, it is always connected to the first (right) connections.
In this way, all information about the on-board battery, such as voltage, charge and discharge currents and residual capacity, as well as all data from the solar system, can be conveniently read from a mobile phone or tablet. In addition, the most important data is logged, graphically prepared and stored for a longer period. Even output as a CSV file for your own analysis purposes is possible. Of course, the Bluetooth Connector S-BC can also be installed retrospectively at any time.

Connection:

Connecting the Bluetooth Connector S-BC is very simple. It is simply inserted between the Votronic solar charge controller and the LCD solar computer S or between the Smart Shunt and the LCD battery computer S or VPC Jupiter using the modular cable included in the scope of delivery.

The Bluetooth Connector S-BC can be installed retrospectively at any time.
It has two independent connection circuits. This means that a solar controller and a smart shunt can be connected together. The signals are looped through, so that LCD displays (e.g. LCD Solar Computer S) can still be operated. When using the Smart Shunt, the associated original display (LCD Battery Computer display or VPC Jupiter panel) must be connected.

Operating a smart shunt without a solar controller and vice versa is of course possible. Instead of the smart shunt, a second solar controller can also be connected. The values are then calculated as one solar system. Alternatively to the Votronic SR and MPP solar controllers, a VBCS Triple type Battery Charger can also be connected to the Bluetooth Connector to display its internal solar controller.

It is also possible to operate solar controllers on the Bluetooth Connector without an LCD Solar Computer S, in which case the solar data will only be displayed in the app.

The Bluetooth Connector S-BC is compatible with the following devices:
