Discover the Bo-dapter – the innovative solution for effective insulation of your camper floor! Our XPS insulation boards are foot-resistant (300kPa) and weigh under 5 kg. With only 18 mm additional height to the highest point of the floor panel, you maximize the standing height in your camper without compromising on thermal or noise insulation. At the same time, cavities at all height levels of the floor panel are optimally filled with an insulation thickness of up to 29 mm, thus achieving the best possible insulation values. 

The floor insulation is made from extruded polystyrene foam (XPS), which is precisely milled on a CNC machine to match the exact floor contour of the vehicle. In addition to its high thermal insulation effect, the material stands out due to its high compressive strength of 300 kPa (approx. 30t/m²) and dimensional stability. Furthermore, the material is insensitive to moisture and can be used at temperatures down to -50 °C. The XPS panels are also free of HBCD flame retardants, as well as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), HCFCs, and HFC-containing blowing agents.

Advantages of the insulation for your motorhome floor

In addition to the extremely low weight of the XPS floor insulation itself, the full-surface installation offers further weight advantages when using the Bo-dapter. Due to the full-surface contact of the floor panel and the high compressive strength of the insulation, the overlying floor panel can be chosen almost arbitrarily thin, thus allowing a weight reduction in the mid-double-digit kilogram range, depending on the chosen floor panel. Alternative insulation solutions usually rely on a wooden substructure, between which the actual insulation is installed. Since this cannot fulfill a load-bearing property and must not be compressed to achieve the insulation effect, the actual floor panel spans the underlying insulation and forms cavities. The floor panel must be chosen correspondingly thick to reduce the bending of the floor under load. With full-surface insulation by CNC-milled XPS elements, this problem does not exist, and the floor can lie fully flat and optimally transfer the load to the floor panel and the vehicle structure.

Installation in Ducato, Boxer, Jumper, Movano C from 2011

The Bo-dapter is easy to install – in just 30 minutes to 1 hour you can complete the floor insulation of your Crafter. The full-surface contact of the panels prevents the floor from rocking.

How is the floor laid?
The panels are selectively or fully coated with adhesive and laid on the vehicle floor. To avoid relative movements of the panels, e.g., due to twisting of the vehicle, we also recommend applying adhesive to the butt joints of the panels. The floor insulation is completed in under 60 minutes, and the vehicle can then be further converted. For the drying time of the adhesive, we recommend weighing down the panels or the floor panel. Alternatively, the conversion can be continued immediately after installing the floor insulation, as the motorhome conversion itself naturally also applies weight to the panels during the drying time. This means no time has to be spent waiting with this insulation solution.

Suitable adhesive

We recommend Soudal Fix All Flexi adhesive. Approximately 8 cartridges are needed for the L2 and 10-11 cartridges for the L3.
