Lazer Lamps CANny Interface (Direct Connect - incl. cable kit)

Canny is a CAN interface developed by Lazer Lamps that facilitates the installation of auxiliary lights for selected vehicles with CAN communication systems where it would otherwise not be possible to retrieve 12v lighting signals from the back of the vehicle's headlight, for example. The system, consisting of a Canny dongle, plus wiring harness, and supported by a dedicated app (CANNY.LZR), benefits from being able to be mounted in your vehicle's engine bay for a faster and easier installation or inside the vehicle itself. Bluetooth synchronisation and over-the-air updates enhance the system's ease of use and installation speed.

The dongle comprises an automotive-grade Molex connector ensuring a fully IP68 watertight solution. Integrated design features and included cable ties make for easy mounting of the unit. Placement of the unit in the engine bay is preferable due to ease of installation, but will depend on the connection location of the CAN Hi/CAN Lo wires on each vehicle.

Connection to the vehicle's CAN lines is made via the provided wiring harness, with the blue (CAN Hi) and yellow (CAN Lo) lines supplied with automotive-grade heat-shrink crimp connectors to ensure watertight connections. The supplied wiring harness also incorporates a fused positive battery and an earth line. Additionally, there are 4 output lines, each of which is programmable to respond to different inputs, be it: High Beam, Position Light, Ignition, Reverse etc., and compatible with any of our vehicle kits (where required output is >1Amp).

Activation, synchronisation, and ongoing updates of your Canny Dongle are achieved via the app. After gaining full access via your unit's unique serial number and PIN, users can access installation guides for their vehicle before pairing the unit and assigning and testing the various lighting functions. Updates, for example, following vehicle changes, can also be completed via Bluetooth.
