Parking Heater Kit Land Rover Defender Td4 with Autoterm Air 2D

Complete installation kit for the Autoterm Air 2D in the Land Rover Defender.

With this installation kit for the Autoterm Air 2D, formerly known as Planar 2D, you get everything you need to install a diesel parking heater in your Land Rover Defender.

To make retrofitting as easy as possible, we have put together a kit that can be installed cleanly even without a high-end workshop. It consists of a cubby box riser with all the necessary openings for the Autoterm Air 2D air vents and a panel with a mount for your chosen control unit.

In addition, there is a mounting plate with mounts for the burner intake, exhaust pipe, and fuel line. Also included is a fuel pick-up, which means you don't have to remove the tank.

Important: The included fuel pick-up is only suitable for vehicles without a flow-through tank in the rear right wheel arch.

Installation of the Cubby Box Riser

For installation, you only need to unscrew your cubby box and the original base plate of the cubby box. Our mounting plate fits directly onto the holes of the original.

The heater and the cubby box riser are then attached to this. Your cubby box is then placed on top as the final touch.

Installation of the Fuel Sender and Electrics

The installation of the fuel sender is also simple: you only loosen the filler neck from the original tank and shorten it by a piece.

The shortened piece is replaced by the supplied adapter and screwed back onto the filler neck. After that, only the electrics need to be wired – everything necessary for this is also included in the kit.

Altitude Kit and Heater Maintenance

The heater is equipped with an altitude kit. Our tests up to 3440 m went smoothly; we do not expect any major difficulties up to approx. 4000 m. The software itself calculates up to 5000 m.

However, this does not mean that the heater cannot get sooted up. If you leave high altitudes, operate the heater at full power for about an hour so that deposits can burn off.

Burning off is also necessary if you operate the heater for a long time only at the lowest setting. At the latest every 1 to 2 weeks, set it to full power so that the combustion chamber gets hot again. This is the most important and at the same time the only regular maintenance measure for the heater.

The heater is designed for continuous operation. This means it does not have to be switched off constantly but can continue to run at a low power level. Maintaining the temperature of an interior generally consumes significantly less energy than heating a cooled room back up in a short time.

E-Mark Available

All Autoterm heaters have an E-mark (e2) and can therefore be installed without registration. The hole pattern corresponds to that of the well-known Eberspächer or Webasto heaters.
